Originally from Birmingham I completed my MChem degree at the University of York (UK, 2014-2018) with a year abroad. I conducted my final year project focussed on geothermal silica scale inhibition under the supervision of Prof. Jim Johnston at Victoria University of Wellington (NZ, 2018). I then worked in industry, firstly conducting quantitative vitamin analysis as an analytical scientist at Premier Foods (2018-2019). I moved to Arcinova (now Quotient Sciences, 2020-2022) firstly to develop HPLC methodologies for the analysis of pharmaceuticals and then to radiolabelled organic synthesis. I started my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Garden at the University of Edinburgh (2022) working in the synthesis of polymers. I am conducting an RSC Researcher Collaboration Grant funded placement under Prof. Eva Hevia focussed on the metallation of organic substrates. In my free time I enjoy running, kayaking and other outdoor activities.
